Judge David J. Brousseau

The Honorable David J. Brousseau received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Anderson College n/k/a Anderson University in 1998. He was a member of the men’s soccer team during his time at Anderson College. In 2002, Judge Brousseau received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law.

Following his graduation from law school, Judge Brousseau returned to Anderson where he worked as an associate attorney at the law firm of McIntosh, Sherard & Sullivan. In 2009, Judge Brousseau became a partner at McIntosh, Sherard, Sullivan & Brousseau. Throughout his career, Judge Brousseau was a trial and appellate attorney handling a wide range of cases with an emphasis on domestic relations law, contract litigation, and personal injury matters.     

Judge Brousseau served as a member of the Anderson County Tax Assessor’s Appeals Board from 2009-2024. He also served on the Tenth Circuit Fee Dispute Resolution Board during that same time frame. He volunteered as a youth soccer coach for many years.

Judge Brousseau was elected by the South Carolina Legislature as a Family Court Judge on April 17, 2024, to fill the unexpired term of the late Honorable Edgar H. Long. Judge Brousseau and his wife have one child.
