The Supreme Court of South Carolina
ORDER
Pursuant to provisions of Article V, Section 4 of the South Carolina Constitution,
IT IS ORDERED that until subsequent order by the Chief Justice, all jury trials at the Richland County Courthouse, located at 1701 Main St. Columbia, SC 29201, are postponed. Non-jury trials and other hearings may continue to be held, but only attorneys, on behalf of litigants, may appear. However, in order to ensure due process, the respective Chief Judge for Administrative Purposes (CJAP) may direct a party be present. Provisions for emergency hearings shall also be made by the respective CJAP.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that only essential personnel shall report to the Richland County Courthouse for work. Provisions shall be made for the acceptance of filings and payments, and transmission of necessary information to law enforcement and other government bodies.
