Eugene (Gene) P. Warr, Jr. is the son of Preston Warr and Joyce Tolson Warr and is a lifelong resident of Darlington County. He received his degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina in 1981 and Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1985.

After graduation from law school, Judge Warr returned to Darlington County to work as an associate with the firm Saleeby, Cox and Bledsoe in Hartsville. After several years there, he formed the firm of Beasley and Warr with David M. Beasley, who later left the firm to serve as Governor.

Judge Warr represented the Fourth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina on the University of South Carolina Board of Trustees from 2003 until 2022 and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2016.

He is married to Cassandra (DiDi) Warr and they reside in Darlington County with their two children.

Judge Warr was elected to the Family Court Bench in February 2022.
