26729 - State v. Belcher

Due to an erroneous jury charge, we reverse Belcher's convictions and remand for a new trial.

26730 - Compton v. SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services

In this case, the Court held the Parole Board's amended notice of rejection informing an inmate that the Board considered both statutory and internal factors for parole consideration was adequate to meet its obligations under Cooper v. S.C. Dep’t of Prob., Pardon, and Parole Servs., 377 S.C. 489, 661 S.E.2d 106 (2008).

26731 - Shuler v. Tri-County Electric Co-op

In this case, Frederick D. Shuler (Petitioner), a member of Tri-County Electric Cooperative’s board of trustees, requested workers’ compensation benefits for an injury received while travelling to a conference. The court of appeals affirmed the denial of workers’ compensation benefits. The Supreme Court granted a writ of certiorari and affirmed the court of appeals, holding that Petitioner is not an employee of Tri-County.

26732 - In the Matter of Anonymous Member of the South Carolina Bar

This is an attorney disciplinary matter involving a television advertisement.

26733 - In the Matter of Michael E. Atwater

In this attorney disciplinary action, we suspend Michael E. Atwater from the practice of law for six months and order him to pay the costs of these disciplinary proceedings.

26734 - In the Matter of Shaquille O’Neal B.

Appellant, a minor under the age of seventeen, appeals from a family court order denying his motion to remove his name from the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry.

26735 - Gignilliat v. Gignilliat, Savitz & Bettis, L.L.P.

Joanne Levesque Gignilliat appeals from an order granting summary judgment to Gignilliat, Savitz & Bettis on her claims regarding the law firm's continued use of her late husband's name in the law firm name.
