27645 - Smith v. D.R. Horton, Inc

The Court affirms as modified the court of appeals' decision in Smith v. D.R. Horton, Inc., 403 S.C. 10, 742 S.E.2d 37 (Ct. App. 2013), affirming the circuit court's refusal to compel arbitration between the parties.

7-13-2016 - Opinions

27646 - Pascoe v. Wilson

The Court grants the declaratory judgment action in favor of petitioner David Pascoe. Based on the rulings in the declaratory judgment opinion, the Court finds it unnecessary to issue a ruling in the writ of mandamus action.

27647 - State v. Douglas

The Court dismisses the writ of certiorari as improvidently granted.

7-20-2016 - Opinions

27648 - Castro v. State

In this opinion, the Court reverses the post-conviction relief judge's finding that trial counsel was not ineffective in failing to object to the trial judge's improper consideration of the petitioner's decision to exercise his right to jury trial in sentencing the petitioner.

27649 - In the Matter of Ronald Wade Moak

This is a disciplinary opinion in which the Court publicly reprimands a lawyer.
