28064 - In the Matter of Kenneth E. Johns, Jr.
In this judicial disciplinary matter, the Court accepted an Agreement for Discipline by Consent entered into between Respondent and the Office of Disciplinary Counsel and suspended Respondent from office for a period of eighteen months for violating Rule 501, SCACR, Cannons 1, 2, 2(B), and 4(C)(3)(b)(iv).
The Court certified this appeal of an order denying a motion for a preliminary injunction to require the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce to re-enroll in three federal emergency unemployment programs following the Governor's order to cease participation in the programs. The Court affirms in full the decisions of the Public Service Commission regarding the recent ratemaking applications filed by Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC and Duke Energy Progress, LLC.
