Chief Justice Toal Addresses Sentencing Conference in Montgomery, Alabama

On Wednesday, September 8, 2010, Chief Justice Jean Toal was the keynote speaker at a Sentencing Conference in Montgomery, Alabama. The conference, which concludes September 10, is the first of its kind in Alabama and explores many facets of sentencing from guidelines to community alternatives.

Chief Justice Toal discussed South Carolina�s work in Sentencing, from the creation of the South Carolina Sentencing Reform Commission and its recommendations to the Legislature to the legislative action that was taken and the next steps to follow.
