Blake Hewitt was elected to serve on the Court of Appeals in February 2019 and began that service in January 2020, following the retirement of the Honorable Paul E. Short, Jr. of Chester.
Prior to his election, he practiced law for 10 years with Bluestein Attorneys (formerly Bluestein, Nichols, Thompson, & Delgado) in a statewide general litigation practice with a concentration on appellate litigation. Before that, he clerked for former Chief Justice Jean Toal at the S.C. Supreme Court and Judge Joe Anderson at the U.S. District Court.
Hewitt is an Atlanta native, a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. He lives in Conway with his wife and their daughter.
