Daniel Hall was born in York, South Carolina in 1954 to John Q. Hall and Jean Quinn Hall.

He grew up in York and graduated high school from York High School in 1972. Dan graduated from Clemson University in 1976, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He worked several years as a Cattle Manager in Sampson County, North Carolina and in the retail/wholesale meat business in York. Dan entered law school in 1985 and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Campbell University School of Law in 1988 and is a licensed attorney in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Dan has served as an Assistant Solicitor in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit, Assistant Public Defender in the Sixteenth Circuit, Municipal Judge for York, South Carolina and was engaged in the general practice of law from 1991 -1998.

Dan is married to the former Cathy McCreight from Sumter, South Carolina and has four grown children and eleven grandchildren. He is an active member of Filbert Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher.

He enjoys farming, bluegrass music, running and plays the violin/fiddle with limited expertise.
