The Supreme Court of South Carolina heard oral arguments at Patriot Hall in Sumter, S.C., on Thursday, Feb. 21. In addition to members of the Sumter legal community and local citizens who attended, there were approximately 130 students from local schools and colleges.

“We were pleased to be able to hold court in Sumter today, and to provide an opportunity for local students and citizens to personally experience the work of the South Carolina’s Judicial Branch of government,” said Supreme Court of South Carolina Chief Justice Donald W. Beatty. “It is appropriate for the Court to be accessible to the people we serve. We look forward to opportunities to hold court in additional South Carolina communities in the future.”
