The Supreme Court of South Carolina

Re: Petition for Relief Packet

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER

I find that the implementation of Act 22 of 2013 provides that procedures be developed for persons seeking to remove the prohibition of a firearm or ammunition.  The purpose of the Petition for Relief Packet is to provide information and forms to assist in petitioning for removal of a firearm or ammunition prohibition.  The Probate Court Judges Form Development and Relief Procedures work group, along with the Department of Mental Health and South Carolina Court Administration, developed a Petition for Relief Packet that includes an informational sheet and applicable forms.  The Petition for Relief Packet was approved by the Probate Court Judges Advisory Committee and Probate Judges Association and is submitted for approval.

Therefore, pursuant to the provisions of S.C. Const. Art. V § 4,

IT IS ORDERED THAT the Petition for Relief Packet, as attached and made a part of this Order, is hereby approved for use in the Courts Statewide.  The packet will be available on the South Carolina Judicial Department website at www.sccourts.org
